Valve has a self-centering seat to keep the seating position optimal in all circumstances.
The body groove is deep enough toallow the seat to expand or relocate radially without jamming the disc.
The disc is elliptical and has a double eccentrical mounting.When the disc comes into contact with the circular seat it displaces the ring outwardscausing the seat to contact the disc at the minor axis When the valve is opened,the contact is released immediately and the seat reassumes its original shape. This effectively prevents wear and makes the valve withstand hundreds of thousands of operation cycles.
